Victoria Ahrens Carol Wyss Victoria Arney
Victoria Ahrens, Carol Wyss and Victoria Arney of Geographies of Print Collective present their new exhibition of large scale installation works that use video, print, sound and sculpture. Without Horizon, Without Shore offers a contemplative view of the organic threads that connect us - giving voice to our encounter with the intrinsic fluidity and melody of the landscapes we inhabit, external and internal. These are depictions and sounds beyond visible shores, static horizons. These fragments and mineral particles retain indelible marks that serve to capture a haptic sense of ourselves, touching, quite literally, on the liminal spaces or connective threads that bind us. In a shifting landscape both metaphorical and actual, these ephemeral traces of our physical experiences compel us to find new ways to embody them. About Geographies of Print Geographies of Print is a collective group created by artists Victoria Ahrens, Carol Wyss and Victoria Arney in 2020. This collective looks to explore and challenge notions of print within wider contemporary discourse and practice. They are looking to push the boundaries of time, touch and intuition in printmaking, by expanding their encounter with the materiality of print, as a way of generating new territories of thought. All three artists share a common thread of investigation into spaces both cognitive and physical. Their concerns are rooted in notions of time/ place, surface/ touch and human/ vestige, often worked into more sculptural forms. These complex entanglements are at the heart of Geographies of Print, who seek to enter new dialogues away from the historical confines of editions and reproduction. Through talks, exhibitions and publications on deep time, embodied spaces, both internal and external, and recorded wildness, they aim to foster exchange and go beyond the preconceived boundaries of print.
