About Mickey Dell

Mickey Dell is a photographic silkscreen printmaker who uses her own analogue photographs to produce images.

The darkroom process to make photomechanical stencils often involves the use of the Benday dot screen to realise the printed image from many of the photographs she works from. The Polke Series was made as homage to this process and is achieved by greatly magnifying these dots. The Polke Series was inspired by an exhibition of Sigmar Polke’s work.

Mickey studied fine art at Wimbledon College and went on to take an MA in printmaking at Chelsea College of Art in 1992.

Since then she has exhibited in many London venues as well as Berlin and Brussels. Her work is held in collections at the Royal Mint, Marks & Spencer's and Transport for London.
